Fundraising and Marketing
Securing the long-term financing for Kafa Biosphere Reserve

To finance the management and day to day running of the biosphere reserve in the long run, a marketing concept and a fundraising program are being developed and realized within the duration of the project. After consulting with stakeholders and establishing the status quo, the financial needs and marketing potential, a team of experts will develop recommendations and innovative ideas for the marketing and financing of Kafa Biosphere Reserve. Amongst others, it is foreseen to produce a short film about Kafa, to include the region into portfolios of specialized travel agencies and to contact different coffee-related private companies to discuss potential partnerships and sponsoring programs to preserve the origin of Arabica coffee and its gene bank in-situ and thus financially contribute to their maintenance.
The goal of this project activity is to have at least three bigger sized programs implemented and working by the end of the project (October 2013) which continually generate funds for the effective and smooth management of Kafa Biosphere Reserve.
